I painted this at Bliss St Station in Queens during sunset. The light over the tracks felt calm, almost surreal, it made me feel blissful, and I wanted to turn that feeling into something people could live with.
As someone known for painting the NYC subway, this piece feels especially personal. It reflects the everyday beauty I’ve always been drawn to in these spaces. This is also my first print release in oil, a medium I’ve loved since I was young, so it means a lot to me and feels like a return to my roots.
